I agree - that's what Japan needs. The "NEW ECONOMY" of prosperity from ecommerce and Internet trading will make the world rich, cure disease, ease the population explosion and feed the hungry - all this and more is possible. Japan can pay their citizens to consume more: Maybe they should cut a deal with Amazon and send out $5000 off coupons toward the next year's purchases of stuff. The $5 for $4 formula has worked great for creating real value for Amazon stock - this form of economics should be extensible to national and international economies as well - why not? All that matters is economic churn anyway.

American know how should be able to play a big part - the Japanese have way too few lawyers and stock brokers. Think of the tremendous expansion of their "service economy" that is possible!
