NOTE: NAVMAPI32.DLL comes _only_ with 4.0x *StandAlone* NetScape. Assuming that you have MS Outlook installed, insure that you have the file navmapi32.dll in the Communicator Program directory (by default, unless you changed it upon installation, this file should be in \Program Files\Netscape\Communicator\Program). Navigator must not be running while you edit the prefs.js file using a text editor (Notepad or Wordpad will do as long as you save the file as ascii text when you finish. It would probably pay to make a backup of this file before you edit it, just in case you run into problems). This file is normally located in the \Program Files\Netscape\users\username directory. You must insert the following two lines: user_pref("mail.use_altmail", true); user_pref("mail.altmail_dll", "navmapi32.dll"); That's all there is to it. Now, when you start Navigator and click on a "mailto:" URL, Outlook will start up a new message for you and all you do is hit "send" when you are through. chuck.s@mindspring.com Your mail program must be set as the MAPI client.
