Before making predictions on Amazon's profitability, it would probably be a good idea to determine what "profitability" means. Does profitability relate to:

1. Net Income according to GAAP standards
2. Operating Income
3. The Amazon way of stating earnings (which happens to be the same method used by many internet firms - and remains a mystery)

James - if I were you, I would demand that Randy agree to number 1 - otherwise you might be eating hats before the end of the year.

Randy, well maybe not hats. Some time ago I said if Amzn got to some number? I would eat peanuts. I lost out on that one, so now I have peanuts and pork chops up to my ass.
But i still have my P&g, and Wal-Mart.
