Congratulations on another thoughtful commentary. (And, this time you didn't confuse the months!! <bg>)

I have been wondering what happened to the corporate profit picture in the fall of 1976. Do you know? On a related note, what are your sources of information for the 76 time frame?

I saw Charles Blood of Brown Bros Harriman on CNBC making many of the points Bob has been making and he was downright bearish looking for a bear market of 30%. I don't recall where he stood before but I thought he had been fairly bullish though I could be wrong on that. Obviously he suggested investors should be moving to a more risk averse position
