ECB'S DUISENBERG SAYS US FED INVOLVED IN GOLD DISCUSSIONS
Washington--Sep 26--European Central Bank President Wim Duisenberg said
today that the US Federal Reserve had taken part in the discussions leading
to today's statement by 15 European central banks that they would coordinate
their future sales of gold. Duisenberg said there was no reason to believe the
Fed would change its attitude toward sales of gold. Duisenberg said the
statement was aimed at dispelling fears of further gold sales beyond those
already announced. (Story .13393)
