NORA EXPLORATION CLOSES PRIVATE PLACEMENTS TOTALING $2,050,000

Montreal, QC - Nora Exploration Inc. (NXI-ME) is pleased to announce that it has closed the five private placements previously announced on August 31st, 1999. The subscribers to four of the placements are investors associated with Kestrel S.A., a financial services company located in Switzerland. The fifth placement was subscribed to by members of Nora's management for an amount of $100,000.

The private placements total 8,200,000 units priced at 0.25$ per share. Each unit consists of one share and one half warrant. Each full warrant entitles the bearer to acquire an additional share at 0,33$, for a period of 18 months.

These private placements clearly demonstrate the investors' conviction of the enormous potential that Nora's marine diamond concessions have to offer.

Namibian Gemstones

With the issuance of 1,100,000 shares, in favor of Namibian Gemstones Mining Corporation (PTY) Limited, coupled with a payment of US $648,000, Nora now holds a 60% direct interest in the Namibian Gemstones concession.

Nora Exploration Inc. is a Canadian based resources company actively involved in the acquisition, exploration and development of major gem diamond properties in Africa. The Corporation's large and prospective concession holdings place it among the significant participants in the marine diamond business. Its shares are traded on the Montreal Stock Exchange under the symbol NXI-ME.

Hi George and all

Thanks for all the info.
Just in case you have not heard of it I want to mention a great book I just read. It is called
Fire Into Ice, the Chuck Fipke story. Besides chronicling his life it goes in depth into Diamet's play in the NWT.
It is a very interesting read.
Check it out at www.chapters.ca only $19
It helps explain all the details we talk about here and makes you realize why things take so long and info is kept so secretive.
