Was this "important benchmark" important to you when benchmarks came out which showed the K6-III faster than the PIII? Cuontimemine may well beat the Athlon in Winstone 99 on NT by a good margin. But there is also another office benchmark out - BAPco. In Win 98, the Athlon enjoys a 11.7% advantage and in Win NT a 13.8% advantage. So that benchmark should be a little harder to overcome the Athlon in. But of course, we can't forget that these gains for the PIIIB are with the expensive PC800 DRDRAM running on a chipset that doesn't even work properly. So Athlon systems should actually be very price competitive with Cuontimemime systems running on the CamiNo-Go chipset IF the platform recieves a fix by the end of Oct. Athlon systems will have a performance advantage over Cuontimemine systems running on the i810 chipset. Looks like a Catch-22 for Intel.
