DVD-Recordable players are one year away...................

cableworld.com

The only way full-length video downloads will work is with writeable digital video disks to store the file. A handful are now circulating within the video industry, but Nassour said it will be upwards of a year before you see a DVD recorder retail debut, probably in the $1,000 range.

"As that becomes more available and people get computers that are geared for entertainment, we'll do that," he said. "Right now, the demand is low."
