I may be looking too closely, but the Yen seems to be firming against the dollar at this moment. If it heads below 106 to the buck and stays there, it should rattle a few cages. And, as smarter people than I have said, BWTFDIK

Ken, i agree that it borders on the reckless when Fed officials start uttering new paradigm nonsense in public. they should show restraint in word as well as deed. as to the bubble in the stock market (and it IS a bubble), it is mainly due to the Fed's recklessness in expanding credit and the money supply. if not even Fed governors can admit to the fact that this bubble is based on EXACTLY THE SAME fundamental backdrop as any bubble before it, it is a sure sign that they know what their role in it's creation was. and you're right: all that nonsense that is uttered by Fed officials these days is also a sign that they covet a job that's soon to be up for grabs, namely Easy Al's. i think the savior of the world is about to retire...
