Can you explain this further? How does this cool down the economy or lower oil prices?

thank you so much for your speculation..I thought it was excellent..
glad you are posting on the thread..
what I found glaring in their announcement was that they still consider gold currency..for the past couple of years they appeared to be declaring the opposite
I spoke with friend yesterday..I told him I thought part of this announcement was a way to kill all the speculators who are so dangerous to the financial markets..and today's announcement by Japan might further wipe out some..
but he said he thought the central bankers didn't think that way and were also trying to keep their large assets worth something..
