Logically thinking, YES!

But that doesn't mean it can't happen. You really have to prepare for any possibilities. What happens is another Chipset has problems? or the pressure gets just too big and Intel folds their hand. As an investor you always need to evaluate everything.

Without Intel Rambus is a 10.00 stock. The P/E is based on Rambus becoming the standard. Without Intel it is imposible for the bus to run!

>>Worse case Intel cut's ties with Rambus and moves on.<<

Way, way, too much money invested in Rambus for this move.

I don't think this line of thinking is valid. If I recall the lessons from Econ 101 accurately, the money INTC has invested in Rambus so far would be considered sunk costs and irrelevent to whether they should continue with Rambus. The key question is how much more they have to spend in order to get it functional; if they decide it's too much for the benefits, they'll just walk away from it.
