Tan Range Exploration Corporation announces Mnekezi RAB drilling returns positive results

VANCOUVER, Sept. 28 /CNW/ - Tan Range Exploration Corporation
Alberta Stock Exchange Symbol: TNX

Tan Range Exploration Corporation reports that it has received a monthly
progress report from Newmont Mining Corporation (NYSE:NEM) which summarizes a
laterite and bedrock sampling program (RAB drilling) underway at the Mnekezi
property. The report states that the results to date are ''extremely
encouraging and demonstrate the prospectivity of the Mnekezi license.''
Assay results have been received from the first 700 samples of the
laterite profile and bedrock in 138 holes along 4 drill fences. Anomalous
gold values closely associated with aeromagnetic highs were obtained in 47
samples in 29 drill holes. Most of the samples represent composite results
from a 3 meter interval.
The most interesting anomaly to date is outlined from a sequence of 5
consecutive RAB holes covering a distance of 400 meters; with the best
intersection being a composite of 0.24 g/t over a 5 m interval. This is
proximal to a gold in soils anomaly. Anomalous drill holes will be re-assayed
at 1 m intervals and a bedrock lithology map is being compiled to determine
which rock units and structures host the gold mineralization.
The Mnekezi property is in the Rwamagaza greenstone belt the Lake
Victoria goldfields area of Tanzania. The neighboring Tulawaka property has
returned intercepts of 39 meters grading 12.7 grams/tonne and 22 meters
grading 14.6 grams/tonne.
