I was not thinking of cash. I would like to see the political parties inviting prominent, respected, accomplished party members into the inner councils, on a rotating basis, different individuals every year, with the specific charge of reporting their opinions to the rank and file. I would like to see significant numbers of voters actually attending and participating intelligently in ground-level party decisions. I would like to see party deliberations at the innermost level held in public. I would like to see it raining hundred-dollar bills in my backyard, too, and that's about as likely to happen.
