AOL/PETM Doug, "AOL is currently, tentatively, sorta, kinda looking like a downtrend break" AOL's currently, tentatively, sorta, kinda holding me together today, on what will be officially known to market historians as Black Catday. That notwithstanding, I've wandered from my creepity little cathouse to announce what I believe may, just, currently, tentatively, sorta, kinda be a fire sale on PETM today. Up 5.5% already from what seems almost guaranteed, nay, predestined to be a signal day, and the main institution that's been selling off and creating my nightmare has PROBABLY sold pretty much all he has to sell. Just the opinion of a man who's lost about, say, 35% of his net worth in the last three days. On paper, mind you. Ivan

OF CATS AND MIMBOS Doug, I've tried this hokum on you before and you didn't bite. One last time: I still am exploring the nasty possibility that cats make for untrustworthy MIMBOs. CSDS, below, is only a psuedo-cat, but it was a great one. bigcharts.com I'm looking at the first four months of '99 as the Whoosis, and August's surge as the Bloosis. (MIMBO theory is still proprietary, no?) Then I'm looking at the exceedingly catlike plunge of late '96 as evidence for this theory, which I have, ahem, ahem, and which is mine: When otherwise perfectly healthy MIMBOs (AKLM, TACO) run up against the resistance of a former cat- (or in this case cat-like) plunge, they maybe ... just ... don't work?
