I've got a little problem that's starting to have a nasty effect on my trading. Perhaps there's a gemmer out there who can offer a bit of advice (after the market closes of course...I shouldn't want my problem to affect your trading). We've got two black labs; Capt. Tomato and Lettuce (what else), and though there's a nice-sized shed out back with a doggie-door that leads to a small fenced in area...it's simply too small for these guys who love to run and play. So I listened to my wonderful but now no-good son-in-law Danny and bought a "wireless" fence that's placed around the perimeter of our 1-acre "Pepperland". I run the wire, set up the transmitter, place the special collar around the dogs necks that gives off a "beep" when they approach the wire and a little "zap", a mild shock, if they try to cross the wire. I read the training manual, I watch the training video. I ask Danny how he trained his dog. "Pieca cake" says Danny. "I let him out, he got zapped coupla times, took a day. Pieca cake." Now Danny's training method differs a bit from what the video suggests; they tell me to train the dogs for a month. A month is a long time. I'm thinking "A month or a day?" I go for a day. Take Lettuce out, walk him to where he hears the beep, let him get zapped. It takes; I can let him roam, he goes nowhere near the wire. Then it's Capt. Tomato's turn. Now Capt. Tomato is a Very Intelligent dog. I do the same with her as I did with Lettuce. It seems to work. So I let her off the leash. She hears a dog barking over in the next yard and takes off. She flies over the wire and takes a zap of course, but figures "what the hell, a quick zap and I'm free to roam the countryside, heh, heh." She comes back at her leisure with a smarmy grin. I re-train her, get her zapped a couple more times (It's not very painful 'cause I tested it myself, so don't report me to the dog-abuse crowd). Tomato seems properly cowed so I let her off the leash again. She's over the wire five seconds later. So I gotta go get her 'cause some yutz in our little town got a leash-law passed and hired a dog-cop and every time the cop busts the dog it's $50 outta my pocket. So while I'm driving around looking for Tomato I miss a couple of alerts that cost me $2,000 in lost profits. I'm rankled that Tomato is smarter than me. Anyone got any ideas? (Lee)

Jenna,
Of course you may not have time to respond to this because of your concern for your son. As a "newbie" subscriber, I may have misinterpreted one of your calls. I thought you indicated that #13 on your watch list from yesterday should be bought, so I went I in with both barrells on a market order, and got filled at 23 3/4. Ouch. Anyway, if you do have time and are watching the market today, I'd appreciate any thoughts on this one.

LAS VEGAS and SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 28
/PRNewswire/ -- PurchasePro.com

operating resources, the operating goods and services
required for daily
operations. In addition, suppliers registered with the
Ariba Network platform
could easily sell to PurchasePro.com's small and
medium-sized buying
customers. The strategic relationship demonstrates
Ariba's strategy to create
new, significant on-ramps to the Ariba Network
