<<The company lacks a unifying framework for hierarchical classification of these devices, a means of elegantly depicting where each unit fits in the overall scheme of things.>>

I agree, Frank. Not only is it difficult to see where each device fits in, and what the target market is for each, but they appear to be developing almost independently. I don't see common themes being used in a standard way. They need to present a "roadmap" of some kind.

Perhaps circumstances and geographic location are the main reasons here. Charlotte's Web is in Israel, Xyplex is on the East coast and Zuma development is on the West coast, I think. Also, an article on the CW website says MRVC was about to lose those developers to a startup, so they chose to fund the startup instead. I don't want to beat them up too badly for this, as all these devices look to be well designed, in tune with customer's needs and very powerful devices.

<<It's one thing to keep track of the product lines being produced by the top three vendors [by market share], but it's something else again to devote the amount of time needed digesting a dozen competing products by a vendor with much less share>>

Outside of the MRVC threads, I don't think this is happening hardly at all. This is partly why their price is so low. BEST and Gruntal are so quiet, they are practically useless as ANALysts. True, Zuma is not announced yet, and I think the presence of the PDF was a goof on someone's part (but I found it only a few hours later), so perhaps we will see reports from them after announcement. The fact is though that we DIDN'T see anything out of them after the Red-C announcement - and we should have if they were doing their job. Van Kasper is the only one who took the time to examine what is here in any depth.

Still, it is only a matter of time now. These products will begin attracting notice as sales and articles increase and as revenue and earnings grow, and real ANALyst coverage will follow.

After talking to the company, expect (for MRV marketing purposes) a clear marketing message showing a classification of all devices sold by MRV and its corresponding divisions. Don't have a date on it, but they're currently working on it (so i'm told).
I think this will not only help in marketing their products, but also will help the street get a grasp on what MRV is all about.
