My only guess is that short positions were taken in anticipation that ANCR will probably go through one more "lean" quarter before the SUN/MTIC/ADIC/etc revs really show up. Besides, they'll have to cover sooner or later if they're not banking on Ancor going out of biz. Laughable.

September typically is a down month for stocks and may be one good explanation for the increase in short activity. I suspect many of the shorters took positions in the high 20's area. LAN switches and related components are still on track to ramp up significantly next year as evidenced recent IPO's, so probably just a minor technical correction in recent days.
