what the issue with one PCI, one AGP may be

I hope you get some responses here as I will be attempting the same with the addition of a Millennium PCI to my existing G200 AGP. I am considering my attempt a long shot as everything I've read favors 2 of the same PCI cards. Why..I do not know. I hope we both get an education on the matter.

Dan, I'm running win98, AGP with #1 monitor, PCI with #2. Have PCI
in #1 slot. Have you tried the PCI in each of your PCI slots?

#1, 21" High Color, (16 bit), Large Fonts on both.
#2, 15" High Color, (16 bit).

Seems to work OK,

Regards, /jw

Dan,

I believe the PCI card has to sit in a specific slot. Maybe the furthest one from the AGP???

BTW, what's the mobo?

Dan,

"Thread: I would like some assistance in troubleshooting a multimonitor setup for a friend. It is a Win98 box with two Xpert98 cards, one AGP and one PCI. The problem is that when both cards are installed and both monitors plugged in, then both monitors stay black with no display. If only one is plugged in, either AGP or PCI, then only that one works.
The BIOS settting for PCI/AGP primary has been changed, to no avail.
If we use two PCI cards, it works great.
Any ideas what the issue with one PCI, one AGP may be?
Thanks
Dan

====================================================================

Have the identical setup but with 3 monitors i.e., Win98 with 3 Xpert98 cards (one AGP and 2 PCI). Went through 3 motherboards before I got it working with an ASUS P2B. My setup will also work with an ABIT BH6 motherboard (post #2141). Other boards that I tried: QDI BX-5 and a QDI BX-1.

If you're going with an ASUS motherboard, I would suggest the new ASUS P3B-F which can support 5-6 monitors and supports PIII 600.

Regards,

Sue
