Robert J. Partridge: S&P 500 Index closed at approx 1283 yesterday, the S&P 500 you are seeing on Globex is futures contracts. (Note the month listed.)

LG

Your quoted 1283 is SPX cash not the futures market which is what GLOBEX trades. To get current futures quotes, use quote.com and enter SP99Z.

There was confusion yesterday about differing closing quote data though. This was discussed last night and I don't remember the resolution. The discussion was done on the futures strategies thread so you might look there. I show CME had the close at 1296.2, Q-charts shows the last regular session trade was 1296.4 and they were discussing a third source which was different from those two.

While we are on the subject of futures, will we retest support around 1290 and fail or bounce today???? I still am biased up but this "Gold Rush" has me wondering now. To clarify, while I think we still need to bounce a bit more, yesterday's weak action has me not willing to try to trade the bounce and I will instead be a spectator now to see if it is strong enough to break out or if it is a chance to re-engage on shorts.

Good Luck,

Lee
