Dave,

Re: "Status"

I tend to agree with u that the race is still on.

If they can ship a 2 RIMM solution then this will be fine IMHO.

Apparently the max memory available is same with 2 as with 3 RIMMS - u just lose some flexibilty.

I agree that just because there was a major disaster with the launch does not mean that the fat lady has sung in defeat.

If the 2 RIMM solution is available with Coppermine then this fiasco will be forgotten pretty quickly.

If they cannot ship out anything in Q4 then I am sure Intel will be forced by OEM pressure to come up with real PC133 and DDR support.

I also suspect there is an almighty pi$$ing contest within Intel right now on this whole Rambus fiasco.

But intel coppermine needs 820/Rambus combo to counter the AThlons in Q4 and so I expect them to move heaven and earth to support the 2 RIMM fix.

This should really help the stock price once this becomes clearer.

regards,

Kash

Hi Dave B; Yeah, I am highly imature, even at the age of 41. I don't plan on changing it any time soon...

By the way, I never heard the word "neener" until I moved to Seattle, do you mind sharing with me where you grew up?

And it is true that I am also heavily in gloat mode. The comments on this thread about, "who would you believe, Bilow or the combined engineers of RMBS, DELL and INTC," comes to mind, I should dig it up. It feels great, by the way, except that my cheek muscles are starting to get tired from the constant smiling...

Re: feel free to throw ours at us...

The thing is, while Carl was writing clear, carefully researched and documented articles, the response was often very thin, and quite unpleasant.

Sometimes it's a good idea to remind people that carefully considered arguments should be responded to in kind, or left unanswered - otherwise the responder ends up looking foolish (and having jumped the gun myself a few times, when I was working late, glanced at a message that I didn't have time to answer, but just couldn't leave alone - it's a lesson I'm trying to take to heart as well).
