Why couldn't CPQ have spun off ATV itself without first selling it to some other entity. AT&T did not sell LU to some other company to skim the cream off.

I thought I was sooo smart selling my CPQ end of Jan for 47 3/4 and then buying for the same amount of dollars more shares in march at 31. I've heard the expression "catching a falling knife" and that's what I did.

This is NOT the same company that ran circles around IBM in the late 80's.
