I just checked on ADSL and yes there are distance limitations, anything over 5 KM (about 3 miles) from the switching station they will not give you the service. Speed of 1.5 megabits/second and they admitted that @Home may be faster depending on how many is on my network. 39.95/month 49.95 if you don't have long distance plan with them. This is Canada, not USA.

The consumer speed for home use wasn't really that fast, and it was the same price as @Home. I am going to stick with @Home.

No problems with my cable modem, it's only been down once since I got it last year. Damn fast. 100% satisfied. @Home claims speeds up to 3 megabits/second. 39.95/month.

I downloaded FlightSim98 Demo from Microsoft last month, 11 MB file and my speed was 120KB/sec. Try that on a 56K connection, you will be lucky to see 5KB/sec.
