I know that, maybe you didn't see my original post on the matter, which was addressed to Neocon.

I am taking issue with any classifications loosely grouped as "conservatives/libertarians" because I don't believe there is a lot of continuity there, and particularly when it comes to classification of things like "above average intellect" and "above average income", the libertarians elevate almost everybody else. I don't feel it is intellectually honest to make statements about the socioeconomic levels of "conservatives/libertarians" here, on this thread, where there is a right wing bias, where many of the people here I would classify as social conservatives anyway (who have nothing in common with libertarians).

There are things like guns where social conservatives, fiscal conservatives and libertarians agree vs. the liberals. But then there are the church and state issues where libertarians are aligned with the liberals. Then there is the family-wage where the social conservatives and liberals might be closer in ideology than the fiscal conservatives and libertarians. And of course I think Buchanan's followers and Jesse Jackson's followers have a lot in common.

Therefore unless one group comes out and endorses the other why make generalizations about what it is "they" think? Or what "their" socioeconomic level is?

BTW if anyone wants to know what the libertarian position is on recent legislation its pretty easy to go over there and ask them.
