Advice required from fellow traders. Put an offer to buy (3:25 p.m.) aty at 15.45 through CT Web - trade turned down due to mistake on their part (no funds available in margin account - when all the money was in the short account from a covering today). When I called to seek clarification all they would do is charge me a web commission for a phone trade. The upshot is that I had a partial fill. Any suggestions?

Don

Hedge funds and institutions?? No... you're wrong!! Obviously it was all a case of manipulation on the part of cyber investors following in the footsteps of the nanos .... did you see how the TSE 300 plunged down to the nano projection and then just oscillated around it for the balance of the day??? Boy... are they good!!! LOL!!! I think I'm losing count of the days. I think they're right on except for USA trade deficit day (last Monday) and the predictable over shoot on Friday... so they're 7 for 9?? (or is it 6 for 8 - when did this all start??).

Anyhow, it was good to see the market close slightly above the forecast... indicates a greater likelihood of a sustained recovery ... will need a few more days of under predicting to confirm that though. (I'll post the market numbers later)

In terms of nanos on individual stocks... I think I'm about to trash one of them. They forecast IMO flat yesterday and down a bit today... which it was so they're OK so far. They projected ATY and MCF up again today. The ATY ones definitely seem flakey though and I think they're going into suspension until they prove they are more reliable!!! They may just need more history to learn from and due to the stock split in early 1988 on ATY they just don't have it. The MCF ones I'm starting to worry about too but they did call the downturn properly in advance (despite the sceptics) so I'm going to give them a little more time to prove themselves in terms of an upturn. The NNC ones were way off today but they're still young. I may discontinue them as well until they have a few thousand more generations under their belt and their standard error comes down.

Everyone have a good night.

ABX closed down even though gold was up considerably to $307!!! perhaps means bets are that gold rally is unsustainable? No trading for today hanging on to cash and LT's
