This morning I thought today (like yesterday) would have been a good day to go long gold stocks. But as the spot price of gold shot up, the major gold stocks didn't follow through. Ultimately, I think there will be more money to be made on the long side of gold the next few months, but I'll take what the market gives me each day. I'll tell you one thing - I will never hold a short position in a gold stock overnight in this volatile market.
