Is Rambus an 800 LB Gorilla or an 8 LB Monkey ? Probably somewhere in between, but probably closer to the 8 lb monkey. I don't believe the RMBS Architecture readily permits RMBS to keep up with DDR speed. Each RMBS channel currently requires separate and distinct RMBS logic on the chips. This will suck up an increasing percentage of chip real estate; make the chips increasingly complex, make good yields more difficult. Personally, I'd be surprised if RMBS ever gets 25% of the DRAM market; probably much less. Is there growth in front of it? Almost definitely. Will it ever get 50% of the DRAM market? No hope in hell.
