To officially recognize the PC133 standard, it is my opinion, that Intel has to publish a PC133 spec. (They did it for PC 100). No such spec to date from Intel to my knowledge. The intiative to create the spec has fallen on VIA and not Intel (they have published it). However like you said, I fully expect Intel to endorse it.

Intel's commitment to "beyond" PC133 SDRM technology still remains (SDRAM with DDR etc)to be seen.
