FLOGGING THE FLUTE

Danfan,

You do it well, friend. Ambidextrous?
Here's another "tool" I've found quite useful: "The 8dRSI trick": tscn.com
You draw lines over the tops and when an uptrend crosses the line, particularly if it has a bottom or two below to create a triangle, THAT's the buy signal, not these silly little mechanical green arrows the software provides. If you back-test the 150 or so cats currently in the litter, you'll notice that the best-working signals happen 10 to 20% above the default signals provided--in the 30 to 40 range of the calibration. I learned to look for that kind of behavior in Doug R's seminars.
Often, the 8dRSI signal is a tad late, as I'm currently hoping PETM's will be. In that case, it can be used as a) verification, if, say your cat is not leaping as quickly as you'd hoped, or if your cat is costing you money and you're breaking the rules, or, better yet, to keep you in a leaping cat for greater and longer profit, or b) to enter an already leaping cat that you have some other, strong reason for believing is headed for the moon.
Do you mind if I publish your earlier message, so people know what you're talking about, what with you polishing the pole as you perform acrobatics on trampolines and whatnot?

Ivan

ON THE CATWALK: CLTR

This has everything, though I wouldn't touch it with a polished pole. The volatility is too great right now:
bigcharts.com Plus, it's currently 16% above the day's low--way too late to get in intraday, which is the only way I'd play this cat, if at all: As a daytrade.

Danfan,

Here's a good working model that I recently used for a quick 50%'er:
tscn.com
Note that the trick worked both for the 9/98 signal and the recent one.
"a quick 50'er." Boy, those days are seeming far, far, far away.
The View From the Cathouse, which I only partially subscribe to, shows that we've got a short amount of time, both for catplays and the market at large, to "make hay while the sun shines" before this year's imitation of the Big Kahuna: When cats don't leap and 90% of the mewlers that should be at least approaching signals are still 20% to 400% above their potential new lows, then I'd have to say, 8% haircut we just took regardless, that the market is overvalued and the worst may still lie just ahead. Little month called October
I'm taking a three-week leave from work (and<<weep, weep>>the Cathouse), starting this Friday (to finish a book), and probably going to 100% cash. So, of course, Big Kahunas suit me just fine. Still, I don't think my selfish greed has totally obscured my View From the Cathouse, which, again, I only partially subscribe to.
