It's been cooler here, too, but it's been raining, the cold front that came through hit the warm stationary spot here and it rained so much that the ground was saturated. I guess you're used to that, but it even sounds different, the splat the rain makes when it hits saturated ground, and bounces off a little instead of sinking in. Last night after we went to bed, it really, really rained, it was an unusual sound because I don't have a heavy canopy of oak trees outside my bedroom window any more, and the rain was beating against my window unimpeded.

But this morning (well, it's afternoon now) the sun was very bright, achingly bright, and the sky that perfect blue that it gets in autumn. And it's cool, but not cold enough for a sweater. I've got the front door open, and the front screen propped open enough for Eleanor to go out and come back in whenever she wants, and she's exploring.

I wonder what cats think when they are taken to a completely new place, and the old place isn't there anymore when you open the door. She looks rather amazed, and a little wired, big green eyes very wide.
