When you click on SubjectMarks at the top of the page, it takes you to a page that says "Subjects with New Messages". Next to each of the subjects you've bookmarked is a number indicating the quantity of new messages (messages you haven't read) on that particular subject. Click on that number, and it takes you to the first UNREAD message. That's how I do it.

I know what you want and I think it is a good idea. When you read 10 messages, it doesn't change colors, but when you read a message individually, it will change to a different color and stay that way to make it much easier to remember where you left off. You can ask that question on the Welcome to SI thread or E-mail tech help. I like your suggestion. :~)
