Greggy, great pics! I just spoke to Dell IR about Taiwan, RMBS & the IBM/Dell deal. Here is what they said:

-there is some uncertainty at this point, but it is not with their subcontractors who are up and running, it is with the chipset and graphics suppliers that is the open question. Dell does have contingency plans that will mitigate the impact. The strength of their supplier relationships will prove to be beneficial.

However, their is no way to assess the full impact at this point as the actual Taiwan suppliers do not know. The key question remains how much is lost and how long it will take to come back online with full scale production. In the long run,, most of the impact is likely to be timing rather than any permanent loss of business.

-Dell was not planning on using the RMBS technology until they were fully tested. They would have liked it to be available sooner, but they will not be incurring any losses related to scrapped motherboards as one article suggested.

-Dell/IBM deal, the deal is actually better than I understood and the market is giving Dell credit for. Dell was planning on selling an additional $10 billion in services business over the next several years. This deal gives them $6 of the $10 billion, and at a higher margin than the PC business. This is actually better than getting IBM's PC business from a margin perspective.

-Overall this Q is going well as they have forecasted.

Hope this helps!

:o)
