I think that "presently" moved at one point to suggest the immediate future, which is one of the reasons I prefer to use "at present" for the sake of clarity. However, do you remember the business with Ish, when I noted that he must be forgetting the sex and gender of the person to whom he was posting? Many people do not know that there is a difference in meaning between the two words.

As for the rampant appearance of "looser's"--perhaps we should tell them that they should not be on the loose at all!

There was an extended discussion of this a few months ago here. As I recall Steven R was in the middle of it. A search of the archives might turn it up. Basically, I think it's what decade you want to use as the basis for your definition.
