I can't believe you have been able to go on with that for so long. The pain was incredible the first time I had that injury. I could barely walk around holding my left hand in my right trying to keep my arm from moving so that the pain wouldn't shoot all the way down my arm. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't find a comfortable way to sit.

This went on for what seemed like forever, which was about three months, and then I finally tracked down the physical therapy that cured it. I know it can be cured, 'cuz I've been there. Quit dawdling.

The atrophying is from nerve damage. I didn't get that far along, but they told me that is what happens if the condition goes untreated. It may be reversable once they get the pressure off of the nerve. I don't know, since it wasn't applicable to the injury I had.

I still get twinges of pain in my neck and shoulders, and I can no longer carry a shoulder satchel at work without my fingers going numb, but at least I don't get the electric bolts blasting down my arm anymore.

Hmmmm... yeah... chronic pain is such a bummer... Seems like sometimes people wonder why you can't do something more about the cause... but when it's happening to you, the pain tires you out after awhile and you just can't seem to figure out what to do. Good luck. Hope someone can fix you up right as rain. Maybe some physio will help to get back a lot of what you may have lost. Amazing what they can seem to do these days..
