Not only was he sane, but a part of God's kingdom God does not control what is said about him or how people represent him just like you can't control what is said about you. You can be the greatest guy in the world but that does not prevent me from calling you a thief and shedding a poor light with regards to yourself. Lk:18:20: Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. If you violate his Law you are not part of his Kingdom. Many use God to hide behind this is just another example. I am sure you have heard the saying God told me to .......... False witness is a biggy many violate it the man that killed that child violated it being that he attached God to it.
