SG -
Firstly thanks for the post. I appreciate it, no kidding , I do. I understand your point so this post is in that spirit.

1. About this Q and for that matter the next Q I agree the numbers should be outstanding. The marketing campaign really getting underway and the entire program beginning to throttle up. We discussed this after the last Q announcement only a few weeks ago.

2. I have queried for some time now the late reporting issue. this has taken on an oncreased importance this year in view of the increased volatility of the markets. In my view the stock price performance is important and the fact that the announcement comes so much after the mainstream announcements means today in practice that the stock just doesn't gain the benefit of the lift which comes with the recently generally good figures that the majority of companies have been announcing. Shortly after the mainstream announcements say around the 15th/19th of the month after each quarter the market has fallen back as people appeared to be taking profit and or the buying pressure reduces. Being so far behind the mainstream threfore has meant that WCII hasn't gaiend the full benefit of the support that many stocks get when they announce in the busy part of each season. Of course long term this may not matter but the short term and medium is also of importance.

It isn't as though the company had to count inventory or work in progress. The entire business is computerized and it should in theory present no awkward problem to getting the numbers out earlier.

3. Is the delay in the issue of the numbers policy or just because there is no way of producing them earlier? I am troubled about how they can 'guide' an analyst to a reduction in top line revenues for an accounting year that is some way off even beginning. Not only that but I think I saw a reduction in margin predicted by this analyst and yet a maintainance of the same bottom line. Altogether the analysts comments didn't seem to hang together.

4. About two weeks ago Mr Vogel announces 'huge' potential orders of LMDS equipment from P-Com or maybe LU or Nortel depending on the financing to be provided by the two latter. These orders are announced to start even in Q4 this year and they are predicted to reduce costs. I should think they would, the financial advantage of LMDS over point to point is substantial. Yet the analyst predicts a reduction in margin.

5. There is beginning to be a greater market awareness of wireless and BR ( if he was correctly quoted) is probably right about interest in WCII after the WCOM/FON deal goes though if nothing else becuase WCII is one of the few independent small players left with a national franchise and the beginnings of a global presence. So again the timing of this 'guidance' seems a little odd. Maybe after due consideration Bill and Nate decided that to guide in that manner was the best strategy and maybe we will get some really god news to counter it from the company over the next day or so. But it still doesn't seem to me to hang together. I had not heard of that firm before but I am not expert and fo all I kow maybe they have a huge follwing. But there are a number of very very well know analysts who might have been asked to 'guide' a little more positively. No-one likes to hear bad news but one of the big supporting analysts might have handled it in a way that didn't cause a $10 drop on the day.

SG I hope this post qualifies for acceptance as a contribution.

Best regards,

L

Hello Steve. Got a question. Have you drawn any conclusion on the WCII investment in and use of ARTT ? Also, as you know QWST got into ARTT also.

I was disappointed way back when WCII paid so much for it.

Hope you have time to respond cause you are rather busy after yesterday.
