JDN - <Dear Paul: Considering all the literature on the problems with the Calif. fault zones (ie most scientists say its merely a question of WHEN not IF) seems incredible to me that anyone would want to set up such a (what I would consider) fragile operation in anyplace but the most stable ground. JDN,

Why would millions of people want to live on fault lines?

Did you know that both Portland and Seattle in the Pacific NW have tons of fault lines? Can't get away from them. They don't seem to be as active as some in Ca. , but the historical record shows Magnitude 8's are very common in the area.

I guess my point is that it might be hard to find the most ideal location for something that is considered "fragile" like this, unless one had the means to have a facility like Cheyenne Mountain (NORAD)....although Intel could probably afford something like this if it wanted to ;-).

Pick any another location.

Then choose your favorite natural disaster - Hurricanes, Floods, Tornados, Fires, etc.

No place is 100% safe.
