Phil, 10% is the limit they can own without disclosing as an insider that they own it. Not sure what the level is that purchases would start looking like an unfriendly takeover & different %'s come into play.

Assuming Barrick has taken a position, I figure that Barrick would actually benefit whether they walk or not. If they decide to buy out PFG's 30% share of Diablillos they would partly be buying something that was already theirs. If they decide to walk then they would benefit from runup in PFG stock.

And, as we all know, it is difficult with offshore accounts etc to know who owns what anyway.

The relationship between Barrick & PFG doesn't seem to be amicable to me. But maybe thats par between them and other jr jv's.
