CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 30, 1999--Interlink Electronics, Inc.
(NASDAQ:LINK) today announced that LSI Logic has selected its popular
Interactive Remote Control (IRC(R)) as the remote control to be included in LSI
Logic's new Integra SDP2000 Set-top Development Platform.

Satellite and cable set-top-box manufacturers will use this platform to develop
next generation digital set-top-boxes (STBs) based on LSI's SC2000 single chip
solution.

Manufacturing digital set-top-boxes using a single chip solution lowers product
costs and enables more rapid deployment of digital STBs and the enhanced
television services they support to cable and satellite TV customers. An estimated
66 million U.S. households currently subscribe to cable TV, with an additional 8.6
million subscribing to satellite TV.

"The Integra SC2000 is LSI Logic's first single-chip solution for digital STB
applications and the first to support mouse-pointing control," said Nicholas Dunn,
Product Marketing Manager for STB Products at LSI Logic.

"We see the ability for users to freely control the cursor as critical to consumer
acceptance of interactive television services. Interlink Electronics has set the
standard for intuitive, one-handed cursor control in remotes. We have included
Interlink's IRC to give our developers a proven, cost effective remote that supports
this feature."

"LSI Logic's choice of Interlink Electronics' Interactive Remote Control speaks
to the value of this solution for evolving home entertainment applications," said
E. Michael Thoben, chairman, CEO and president of Interlink Electronics.

"IRC technology, first developed for use in Business Communications applications,
integrates mouse pointing and multi-button control capabilities in an intuitive
remote control interface. Digital set-top-boxes, and the enhanced TV services they
offer, are expected to create significant demand for such an interface as home
entertainment consumers embrace the new features and benefits of digitally delivered
interactive entertainment."

Interactive Remote Control for Enhanced Television

Interlink Electronics' Interactive Remote Controls for Enhanced TV include wireless
input products and technologies that give consumers new, intuitive ways of
controlling enhanced television services. Such services include electronic program
guides (EPG), interactive TV shows and advertising, Internet access, e-mail and
other communications services and enhanced recording and playback options.

IRC products and technologies enable fluid methods of pointing to and selecting
interactive buttons, entering characters without using a keyboard, freehand writing
and drawing, and wireless microphones. The IRC-TC product selected by LSI Logic
uses a VersaPoint(R) mouse button and patented ClickTrigger(TM) design to create
an intuitive one-handed pointing device with all the features of a traditional remote
control.

The Integra Set-top Development Platform

In the Integra SDP2000 development platform, LSI Logic provides a complete
development environment, combining the company's powerful hardware and software
components into a comprehensive platform that accelerates the development of
customized STB offerings. The SC2000 interfaces seamlessly with LSI Logic's DTV
Channel products for digital terrestrial, cable and satellite offerings.

For example, the SC2000 combined with LSI Logic's L64733/34 Tuner-Receiver chip
set offers a complete three-chip satellite set-top-box solution. The SDP2000 platform
permits designers to implement complete STB solutions, ranging from graphics-rich
receiver boxes to advanced entertainment systems supporting web browsing, video
gaming and high-speed Internet access.
