The more it gets known that those who can pull strings can get treated differently from other Americans, the more respect for the law will erode. Unequal draft treatment was a very legitimate reason to protest induction during Vietnam. If there is unequal draft treatment, I think anyone is within his rights to refuse to be inducted because the government is then denying equal protection under the law.
