Slider (Big cap vs Small) Point taken, but that's why I'm going out to Nov vs. Oct. My portfolio previously consisted entirely of small caps unless you count CHK as a mid (I don't yet). I wanted to diversify into some big caps. APC and APA were too expensive in the past for me. Now I view APC as cheap.

I also added some GLBL yesterday just for you...

jim,

the estimates on chk are so wide you could drive a truck through them. one must assume that the one joker with a strong sell on the stocks is the one holding out for -.05 this quarter and next. this estimate still in place after CHK came in with +.04 last quarter. with increased production and prices...talk about asleep at the wheel; that joker should go back to business school. who knows, maybe the analist in question has been on extended leave, basking in the riviera after shorting CHK from 60 to 1. hey who could blame him for his vacation. but if you write off that estimate for the nonsense it is, the earnings picture for CHK is gangbusters. i'm thinking that the example of CHK alone will show how very shallow and short-sighted this late sell-off in the EnP's has been.

i for one have taken slider's advice of some months ago to heart. i think the near-term for the drillers and services is limited, granted though that these prices are attractive in the osx. i just think the production plays have their ducks all lined up.

six point prime, right?

I asked once before
