BR, I agree. the man is a boob. After seeing him speak, I have never taken him seriously. In most cases he makes for a good contrarian for long term holdings. Are you liking QWST at this level?

Bindu,

You said, ". He doesn't understand the future. He wants to hold a air bubbles like AOL with a dinosaur business model. Internet accesss will be free in future, just as television is today."

Well, I am a USWest customer about to sign up for their DSL offering. If everything works out I am getting rid of AOL. Who needs it really? All I have to do is let people know of my new e-mail address and I am all set. That is the only pain-in-the-butt about switching. Right now I am very upset with AOL. I went to a computer chat line to get some tips on installing a new hard drive and ever since I have had a mailbox full of pornographic websites and a ridiculous amount of unsolicited solicitations for home mortgages, credit cards,...

What a joke.

RE: " Internet accesss will be free in future, just as television is today."

I agree except that television isn't always free. Where I live (Santa Barbara, CA) you can only get one broadcast channel if you don't pay for cable every month (Cox Communications)

PS. QWST board readers may enjoy this:

Forbes/George Gilder TELECOSM 99 conference "Bandwidth Battlefront" webcast:

webevents.broadcast.com

There's a couple of speakers from QWST listed including Joe Nacchio but I haven't heard all the way through yet.

Thanks to Robert Sheldon for posting this up originally on the GBLX board:
