Sam,

I believe WDC's share of Vixel is much less than 20%. They own 1.34 million shares. See page 57 of the prospectus:

Also from an earlier post by me I calculated that after the offering they would own 6.2% of Vixel.

Since WDC will lose about $125 million this quarter alone, the ownership of Vixel is only going to postpone the inevitable, IMO.
