RENO, Nev. (Dow Jones)--Metering Technology Corp. agreed to use Cisco Systems Inc.'s (CSCO) routers to equip China's nationwide energy accounting system.

Financial terms of the deal weren't released.

Metering Technology, a privately held energy measurement company, said in a press release Wednesday that, along with Cisco and Metering's MTC China venture, it will provide an IP-based control system through an agreement with the China State Power Corp.

MTC China said it will provide several million residential metering systems over 10 years, with the first 1.2 million systems to be delivered immediately.
