I think truedog was funnin' you. "Ma" Richards can probably be safely put in the "forgotten but not gone" category. Getting her scalp was quite an achievement for Bush the younger, especially considering Ma's mean-spirited - some say vicious - personal attacks on Bush the elder and the fact that she had a 60% approval rating when Bush the younger kicked her out of office. Then the younger won re-election by a historic margin, something like 70%, bringing in a virtual sweep for Republican candidates for statewide office. Remember, Bush the elder had run two losing statewide races in Texas before being hoisted into the presidency by RR.
