It is not merely SI that is giving me concern. It is the whole privacy issue. How do you react to the following:

A study by the Center for Democracy and Technology found that less than 10 percent of all Web sites respected the O.E.C.D.'s privacy guidelines, which stipulate that people have the right to expect that any personal data they submit over the Internet will not be used without their consent, that they have a right to correct any errors and to assume the data will be protected from abuse.

I have no idea how accurate this study is, but I find the statement disturbing. After all, how many of us have had our e-mail spammed? How do the spammers get the information if it is not given or sold without our permission?
