Inprise Launches Web-Based Newsmagazine for Developer Community Site

Developer News Provides Daily News Blast for Inprise's Developer Community

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- As a part of its ongoing
commitment to supporting software developers worldwide, Inprise Corporation
(Nasdaq: INPR) today launched Developer News, a daily newsmagazine for the new
Inprise Community Web site.

Developer News provides a new edition every weekday, consisting of
in-depth industry news, events, products and trends. The content for Developer
News is based on a daily rotation of topics of particular interest to
developers including: Visual Basic, Java, C++, Delphi and Linux. The news is
written by a team of expert reporters from around the world.
The new developer community site provides a forum for developers to
communicate, collaborate and gain access to unique content. Developer News is
only one aspect of this new developer arena. The site is a complete virtual
community, bringing together people with diverse technical backgrounds and
interests in a common forum. Members can also discuss current issues and
events pertaining to the community in "Street Talk," visit the technology
museum, participate in "The Pulse," an on-line survey to provide instant
developer feedback, and share code with other members through "Code Central."
The site is currently being previewed at community.borland.com .
"The new Web site is truly a community built by developers, for
developers, using developer technologies," said David Intersimone, Inprise's
vice president of developer relations and director of the community project.
"Developer News celebrates the community of programmers that has been forming
over the last 15 years, first with Borland International and now with Inprise
Corporation."

About the Developer News Staff
J.D. Hildebrand, Content Czar for the community project, brings over
20 years of experience in editorial management, magazine launches and other
accomplishments in the industry. He will be working with a team of over
15 journalists to develop the daily Developer News content on the site.
Developer News correspondents -- programming experts from five continents
-- will cover key technologies and topics. Coordinating the correspondents'
efforts will be technical editor Kevin D. Weeks, an accomplished programmer
and magazine editor who has written for the industry's leading developer
publications.
Complementing the correspondents' reports will be timely coverage of trade
shows, product announcements, technology trends, and industry news, all
coordinated by technical editor Bob Arnson. A longtime member of Inprise's
TeamB online tech-support team, Arnson is the author of best-selling books for
professional developers using a variety of languages.
