He's wrong and AMTD is crap. I have an AMTD account but just let it hold one stock, I refuse to use trade with them any longer. As for trading, in a market that lacks any direction, people trade less. Volume has clearly been down.

E trade understands this and that is why they are E group, they are diversifying as they know commissions will only be 1 piece of their pie.

EGRP makes money in UP or DOWN markets.
trading activity goes both ways, and etraders know how to short too.
all the talk about slowing trading revenue is bullshit.
