Just had a adsl gte line installed today. Price is 49.95 a month for 768k so far so good

At this point in time sparsely populated neighborhoods will get no attention from either the telcos or cable companies. You are going to wait years till all the densely populated cherries are picked before they get to you.

If I were you I would be looking at satellite. Ya, you still need your telephone for the upstream but you already know how your cable system is working out don't you?
