B: BancBoston Robertson Stephens Reiterates Strong Buy Rating on AMZN

SAN FRANCISCO, Sep 29, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- BancBoston Robertson
Stephens senior eTailing analyst Lauren Cooks Levitan today reiterated
her Strong Buy rating on Amazon.com, Inc. (NADAQ:AMZN).

Amazon.com is a leading on-line provider of books and music CDs,
videos, DVDs, computer games and other titles, at competitive prices.

"We are reiterating our Strong Buy rating on Amazon.com, following the
company's announced launch of zSHOPS, a program that allows anyone,
from manufacturers to individuals, to list and sell items on Amazon's
site." said Levitan.

"We believe Amazon will charge sellers listing fees and will collect a
percentage of the final sale price, thereby establishing a high-margin,
fee-based revenue stream for the company," said Levitan. "We believe
zSHOPS creates an attractive and inexpensive entry vehicle to the
on-line channel for a variety of retailers and manufacturers,
representing open-ended opportunity for Amazon."

"While we are maintaining our estimates until we gain visibility on the
impact of these moves, we believe zSHOPS could generate
significant-high-margin revenues for the company," said Levitan.
