Then AMKR would be a good short: I heard about it on the radio, went to see if I should short it, and there were no shares to short!!!!! So it must be going down! NO. NO. NO GUARANTEE!!! It is just one indicator of many, so don't based it only on "no shares to short". There are instances where you cannot short a stock which may or may not have anything to do with what the stock will be doing: a. New Issue b. BB Stock c. Play with regards to issuance of convertible debt instruments d. others You are wise in forgetting to short right now, whether you might be tempted to do so in October. I have yet to meet a successful person who timed the market. That is the thinking of daytraders: buy FDRY in the morning, sell it two hours later, etc. It worked yesterday, but disaster today. How many successful daytraders are there percentagewise. No more info about Navisite IPO. Sold more CMGI jan00/85 puts. Will celeberate Y2K not on Dec 31 but Jan 21st, 2000. Good Luck Paul
